Dr. Peter Vocke, an of counsel in Orrick's Düsseldorf office, is a member of the Real Estate and International Arbitration groups. Dr. Vocke's practice focuses on international real estate transactions, in particular, portfolio transactions, development of shopping centers and insurance/reinsurance questions.

Dr. Vocke, for example, regularly works for the English investors of the CentrO Oberhausen, the biggest shopping and leisure centre in Europe, and well known as a premium shopping centre and recreational site. In addition, he works for the U.K.-based investors of the Waterfront, a shopping centre in Bremen. Besides that, Dr. Vocke regularly works for the German and English open and closed real estate funds of the AXA Group. He also works for the Irish investor group Ardstone Capital Ltd. in connection with real estate acquisitions and developments. One of his clients is U.K.-based Circle Anglia, one of the biggest providers for residential housing in the United Kingdom. In the area of insurance and reinsurance law Dr. Vocke works for InterHannover Ltd., the London-based subsidiary of one of the world´s biggest reinsurance companies, the German Hannover Re-Group.

Recent transactions in which Dr. Vocke has participated include the following.

  • Counsel to Cornerstone Capital Management Ltd. (now Ardstone Capital Ltd.) in connection with the acquisition of a real estate portfolio from the German Allianz Group.
  • Counsel to CentrO Oberhausen in its refinancing project in the magnitude of €630 million.
  • Counsel to Circle Anglia´s closed German real estate fund LANDERICUS based in Luxembourg on the acquisition of the German portfolio.
  • Counsel to InterHannover Ltd. in a multinational liability insurance dispute.
  • Counsel to Shareholders of CentrO Oberhausen in their 50 percent sale of CentrO.
