Dr. Peter Zimmermann

Dr. Peter Zimmermann, a partner in Orrick's Düsseldorf office, is a member of the Real Estate Group.  Dr. Zimmermann's practice focuses on the structuring and leading of sale and purchase transactions of individual assets or portfolios. In particular, he advises various fund companies of the AXA Group, of AEW Europe, of JER Partners and of SolidBau Real Estate. In addition, Dr. Zimmermann is counsel to project developers with regard to all stages of a project development, in particular with regard to retail shopping centers.

Dr. Zimmermann has lectured at leading conferences on issues related to commercial real estate and financing.

Recent transactions in which Dr. Zimmermann was the lead counsel include the following.

• Sale of 50 percent share in the retail shopping centre CentrO. Oberhausen from Stadium Group to Canada Pension Plan Investment Board with a volume of approx. €650 million.
• Sale of Metro Cash and Carry Portfolio (approx. 50 individual properties) from private owners to Cerberus with a volume of approx. €700 million.
• Acquisition of various individual properties (office, logistical, hotel and residential) by AXA Investment Managers Deutschland GmbH with a total project volume in excess of €200 million.
• Acquisition of various health-care portfolios by fund companies of AXA Real Estate Investment Managers, UK with a total volume in excess of €200 million.
• Acquisition and development by CENTRUM Grundstücksgesellschaft mbH of a retail shopping centre in Hanover with a total project volume of approximately €150 million.
• Sale of a real estate portfolio by Strabag Projektentwicklung GmbH consisting of 10 properties in an auction process with a total project volume in excess of €200 million.
