Sonja Böhmer LL.M.

Sonja Böhmer, LL.M. (USC) is a member of the Real Estate practice group in Orrick's Düsseldorf office. Ms. Böhmer's practice focuses on advice in international real estate transactions, in particular, portfolio transactions and the development and construction of shopping centres. In addition, she continuously advises landlords of commercial premises in all kinds of tenancy law matters.

Ms. Böhmer's clients encompass the U.K.-based investors of the CentrO. Oberhausen, the largest shopping and leisure centre in Europe; the U.K.-based investors of the shopping centre Waterfront in Bremen; and Value Retail, a developer and operator of luxury factory outlet centres throughout Europe. In addition, Ms. Böhmer regularly advises the Numisma Group, a joint venture between the Pervaiz Naviede Family Trust and the Stenham Group and its asset manager McCafferty.

Recent transactions, in which Ms. Sonja Böhmer was involved, include the following.

• CentrO. Oberhausen in the sale of 50 percent of its capital share to a Canadian pension fund.
• Metro in the sale of a portfolio of 23 retail properties (food retailing) by its shareholders to the consortium of Morgan Stanley ReaL Estate Fund Global VII and Redos Real Estate.
• Metro in the sale of a portfolio of 45 retail properties (wholesale-retail properties) by its shareholders to affiliates of Cerberus Capital Management L.P.
• Italian State Railway Ferrovie dello Stato and the Luxembourg financial investor Cube Infrastructure Fund on its acquisition of Arriva Deutschland from Deutsche Bahn AG.
