Festive Symposion on the Occasion of the 80th Birthday of Prof. Dr. Otto Sandrock LL.M.

The Erbdrostenhof in the center of Münster offered an appropriate setting for the festive symposion on the occasion of the 80th birthday of Prof. Dr. Otto Sandrock, LL.M.

 
The two panel discussions held by highly prominent participants were both under the motto “ The German economy under the increasing influence of the Anglo-American law”.
 
The laudation was held by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Werner F. Ebke, LL.M, after which the Dean of the Jurisprudential Faculty of the Münster University, Prof. Dr. Heinz-Dietrich Steinmeyer, addressed a word of welcome to the numerous guests and debaters.
 
Prof. Dr. Siegfried H. Elsing, LL.M. took over the moderation of the first part “ Successful or Avoidable Receptions”.
Short reviews given by Prof. Dr. Gunther Kühne, LL.M. and Prof. Dr. Petra Pohlmann on the subject “Cartel Law” formed the start of the first round of discussions, after which Prof. Dr. Klaus Berger, LL.M. and Prof. Dr. Matthias Casper covered the theme “Securities Trading Law/Bank Law”.
This was followed by Dr. Matthias Hentzen, LL.M. and Prof. Dr. Thomas Lundmark for the sector “ International Contract Practice”.
Prof. Dr. Dr. Reiner Schulze and Prof. Avv. Edoardo Ferrante concluded on the theme „Draft of a Common Frame of Reference”.
 
The second round of discussions, “ Defence Strategies against Undesired Receptions”, was moderated by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Werner F. Ebke, LL.M.
Speeches made by Prof. Dr. Ingo Saenger and Prof. Dr. Gerald Mäsch on the subject “ International Civil Procedure  Law” were also a part of the programme, as were contributions from Prof. Dr. Siegfried H. Elsing, LL.M. and Prof. Dr. Richard Kreindler on “International Arbitral Procedure Law”.
“International Corporate Law” was discussed by Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Werner F. Ebke, LL.M. and Dr. Jochen Dierksmeier, LL.M.
The final contribution to the panel discussion was made by Prof. Dr. Bernhard Großfeld, LL.M. and Dr. Andreas Möhlenlkamp on “Accounting Law”.
 

The moving closing speech given by Prof. Dr. Otto Sandrock, LL.M. concluded the event organized by Orrick Hölters & Elsing, Düsseldorf, the culinary and musical finale of which rounded off the tribute to the guest of honor.
