Orrick Adds Tax Partner in Frankfurt
Orrick Hölters & Elsing announced today that on
April 1, 2010 Jutta Schneider will join the firm as partner in its Tax Group, resident in
Frankfurt.
"As corporate and M&A activity begins to revive, having high-quality, global tax support
is absolutely critical for the growth of our corporate finance practice," said George Wolf, chair
of Orrick's Tax Group. "Jutta is an experienced tax lawyer with a valuable mix of both cross-border
finance and corporate tax work."
"Our German transactional practices continue to expand as we have taken on several
significant new corporate transactions recently," said Arno Frings, head of Orrick's German
offices. "Jutta's experience, entrepreneurial approach and skill-set align well with our practice
and client mix."
Previously with Clifford Chance and its German predecessor firm Pünder, Volhard, Weber &
Axster for more than 17 years, Jutta Schneider has a wide range of experience advising on finance
as well as corporate related tax matters, in particular in an international context.
"Orrick's culture and strategic direction make me very enthusiastic about this move," said
Jutta Schneider. "Orrick's platform will allow me to rapidly expand my practice and play a key role
in the development of our German domestic and cross-border transactional practices."
Jutta Schneider is admitted to practice as attorney-at-law in Germany and New York and as
German tax advisor. She attended law school at Philipps University in Marburg, Germany and earned
her LL.M. degree from the University of Virginia in 1991.
